Founded in 1986 by Doug Dohring, The Dohring Company was listed as one of the top-100 market research firms in North America by Advertising Age magazine.
The Dohring Company conducted more than 4,000 custom market research studies for leaders in the sports, entertainment and automotive industries; financial and health care services; retail merchandising; as well as for many other businesses and organizations, including government agencies, in all 50 of the United States and Canada.
The company began shifting its focus to online survey research with the development of OpinionSurveys.com, and developed proprietary software for conducting online research, dramatically reducing the time to program and post live online surveys.

Doug Dohring took his entire management team from The Dohring Company and transitioned it to NeoPets, Inc., which Dohring incorporated in 2000. After selling NeoPets to Viacom's MTV Networks Group, Doug Dohring founded Age of Learning in 2007, which he currently leads along with his management team from The Dohring Group and NeoPets.
